Hanging by a Moment

I just discovered this photographer, Martin Stranka, and am in love. The photos are of people suspended in the air, or frozen in some decisive moment. They are almost surreal. I'm obsessed. I don't know how else to describe it. 

It's About the Music

I designed this t-shirt for Charlottesville's 106.1 The Corner radio station. One of their slogans is "It's about the music." I got in the top five in the contest, but didn't get enough votes to win the iPad. Oh shwell. (The pink dotted line isn't part of my design, it was just the area I had to work in.)

Lips so Luscious

...the way I spice it up with the Mac, Mac brushes. I took this on black and white film in my 35mm camera, rolled the film in the black bag, developed the film, and printed this image in a darkroom. I used a transparency with text on it to print the lyrics (Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss") on the image. I colored in the lips with colored pencil afterward. Shout-out to Ashley Hutchins for being a hot model!

I took this picture riding shotgun into one of the most perfect sunsets I've seen so far. I love Virginia, but my heart lingers in San Diego.

I Never Ever Trip, Just...

Peace, Happyness, and Love. (Drake lyrics, for my peeps who didn't recognize the play on the title.) I made this simple website for a friend's new clothing line! He needed a page from which shoppers could navigate to various PH&L resources. Check out the links, get yourself a fresh tee! I got one myself and, no lie, it's the most comfortable t-shirt I own. I do not own the rights to the photograph used.

Love Story

This is a stop motion film I made with my friend Ashley, the girl in the video. I shot the photos with my Nikon and put them together in iMovie. The music is a little something I wrote and recorded on my precious six-string. (Apologies for the pixelation. Wah.)

Sophisticated Swag

All I remember about drawing this was crawling around it on the floor of my apartment for hours on end in order to get to each part of the at-least-four-foot-tall paper. Oh, and having charcoal all over my body, but that just made me feel artsy.

Birds on Wire

Ansel Adams took this gem in 1943 outside the Manzanar Relocation Center as part of his Manzanar collection. This photo wins the award for "Longest Photo on my Desktop Background." I'm sure if I could tell Adams that, he'd be flattered and teach me his ways, right? Maybe I could teach him a thing or two about creative titles. (This one is "Birds on wire, evening, Manzanar Relocation Center." Clever.)

What if...?

Do ants even know that we exist? Maybe not. What if, to something greater than us, we look like nothing more than ants hustling and bustling in our silly anthill of Earth. How would we even know? I created this using Illustrator. 

Meet Thomas

Who needs a fancy studio when you've got a bearded dragon's heat-lamp to direct with one hand, a camera in the other, and a backdrop of a white bathroom door? Add a couple crazy hats and accessories and you're golden.

Chasing Waterfalls

People often make the mistake of confusing their greatest photograph with the one that was hardest to get. Sometimes the best photos are of the things everyone sees, but that you see with a different eye. This waterfall is only about 20 minutes from my apartment, and everyone I know has been there, and taken their own photos - but this is my perception of this local beauty. 

Speaking of the 4th...

Besides greasy burgers, American flag bikini's, a long day of boating, and a couple mullet-heads riding Harley's, nothing says "America" quite like a bird bursting dramatically out of its cage. Take that, King George.

This is me. I enjoy art, my Jeep, my turtles, and Cherry Coke. I'm working with a Canon Rebel T2i, Adobe Creative Suite on my Macbook Pro, and a predominantly right-side brain with left-side tendencies.
